Days Gone By.......................

Twelve months have passed since I sold my baby (sniff).  Oh well - out with the old in with the new (eventually!).  Here's a few pics of my last car, a 1968 fastback.  Click on the images, blah, blah...

The colour is from an early 70's Aussie Falcon - Vermillion Fire.  Always have and still do, like this colour.  Not too dissimilar to Mustangs own 'Calypso Coral' if I recall correctly.

The car was converted to right-hand-drive by a company in Sydney and I bought it as is.  The mechanical aspect of the conversion was quite good but I did re-do the dash as I was never happy with the cosmetics.  The pic at the top right shows the dash after I finished it.  Not to bad for amateur hour!

It was a huge attention getter but wasn't too exciting to drive.  It was a 'J' code and still sported the mildly worked 302, stock 9 inch diff, standard C4 auto and the original suspension although some decent springs and shock had been fitted.

It was the regularly driving of this car that made my mind up to go restomod with the new 67.  This way I can retain the sensual 67exterior whilst running on a slick, updated and high performance undercarriage.
